A Few Words
About Us
Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Accountability and Development (LEAD) is a Rwandan-based association of former participants into several exchange programs organized by the United States Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. These programs, including for example: the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders – Tech Women – International Volunteer Leadership Program – Hubert Humphrey Fellowship – Professional Fellows Program – Fulbright Program, and many more enable the participants especially from Rwanda and around the world to gain valuable skills and experience from the American people and perspective. Upon return to Rwanda, the Alumni endeavor to share the skills and information they acquired through leadership and entrepreneurship trainings, mentorship, and volunteer services for communities, while also informing Rwandans of educational, professional and personal development opportunities available to them. LEAD works in this context and brings members together as an association for a better coordination and more impactful initiatives.

“The best leaders are clear. They continually light the way, and in the process, let each person know that what they do makes a difference. The best test as a leader is: Do those served grow as persons; do they become healthier, wiser, freer, more autonomous, more likely themselves to become leaders?”- Robert K. Greenleaf
